This is really a holiday you will never forget as we undertake a delightful combination of serious bird watching, with unmissable sightseeing. All of our hotels are handpicked for comfort, ranging from 3-4 star plus our luxury transportation. We visit two of the best birdwatching areas in Thailand, Khao Yai and Kaeng Krachan National Parks. It's not all birds on this holiday as we discover ancient monuments in Korat, elephant riding, World War Two history in Kanchanaburi and the wonderful Eruwan Park with its world famous waterfall. Then, in Cambodia...

No one can ever miss the stunning Ancient City of Ankor in Siem Reap, Cambodia. We also see evidence of the Khamer Rouge Regime, how silk is made and an unforgettable trip on the massive lake Tonle Sap to see a great shore line bird sanctuary.

DAY 1
TOUR STARTS
A full day in Bangkok sightseeing, including the Grand Palace, Wat Po, Wat Arun, a river trip, and floating market. In the evening we shall take a two hour drive by minibus to Kaen Krachan National Park for a delightful evening safari.
Overnight: Golden Valley Resor

DAY 2
Depart Bangkok at 0600 (breakfast enroute) for the one-hour drive to Samut Sakhorn, a coastal area which supports a wide variety of shorebirds. Next, continue on to Kaeng Krachan National Park. Have a relaxing lunch overlooking Kaeng Krachan lake before heading into the park for an afternoon of birding. As the day draws in, settle down at a stunning view point in the heart of the forest for a Thai dinner prepared by your support team. Exit the park after dusk on the lookout for nocturnal birds such as the Indian nightjar and mammals such as porcupine, civet, elephant and more.

DAY 3
Depart the resort at 0500 for the drive back in to Kaeng Krachan National Park. Spend much of the day birding along the track that leads some 30kms in to some of Thailand’Äôs best bird watching territory. A relaxing lunch, prepared for you by the support team give you a chance to reflect on the wide range of bird species you have recorded. Mid-afternoon, exit the forest for the 2 hour drive to the coastal birding jewel of Khao Sam Roi Yot. Arrive at your beach-front resort in time for a refreshing swim in the sea before dinner.

DAY 4
Up early for birding in Khao Sam Roi Yot. In addition to a wealth of shorebirds and waterbirds, wildlife sightings at Khao Sam Roi Yot often include monkeys such as dusky langur and long-tailed macaque, and reptiles such as the giant water monitor lizard. After a memorable morning of birding and a delicious lunch by the water, transfer back to your Bangkok hotel in time for dinner.

DAY 5
After breakfast we take an early drive to the Thai/Cambodian border town of Aran Yaprathet - Get to checkpoint at 8.30 then 4 hours drive to our hotel in Siem Reap Hotel and check in and freshen up before a midday buffet lunch. Minibus to Lake Tonle Sap for a river cruise to see the floating villages and a crocodile farm and finally a visit to a Silk Farm. We relax in the evening to a buffet with Cambodian dancing.

DAY 6
No one comes to Cambodia and misses visiting the Ancient City of Ankor, a vast area incorporating the stunning Ankor Wat and stunning temples, mostly intact. Bird watchers will see many species around the ruins and especially near the lake that surrounds Ankor Wat.

DAY 7
Today we board a boat to explore the huge Tonsl Sap lake, a natural reservoir for most of asia where trees are submerged below a water line that continually moves up and down throughout the seasons. Many boat people live here and compete with the animal and plant life to survive in this extraordinary environment. We drift by plenty of river life, the net-twirling fishermen, floating schools donated by Korean NGOs, ethnic Vietnamese and Khmer houseboats.

We continue along the north shore to Prek Toal, the bird sanctuary which takes around 1-2 hours and gives you a close look at the Chong Khnies floating village and the flooded mangrove forest. We spend the rest of the day around the Bird Sanctuary though this is dependent on the local authorities and availabilities of local bird guides.

In the evening you can relax in your hotel or explore the nightlife and restaurants in Siem Reap town.

DAY 8
This morning we visit a silk farm, learn more about the Kamer Rouge attrocities at the War Museum and see the National Museum. In the afternoon we shall visit the Western Bora, an enormous man-made reservoir that joins Ankhor Anthon. We can swim here or take a short boat trip takes us to a temple on an island. Look out for birds that inhabit the area.

DAY 9
Today we leave Cambodia and drive to the Thai border and on to visit the temples of Korat - late evening drive to Kanchanaburi to check onto our hotel, have dinner and sleep.

DAY 10
Morning - River Kwai bridge, Hell fire pass, the amazing 7 tiered Erawan waterfall plus an early evening ride on elephants at the Elephant Reserve, then a 2 hour drive to our resort just outside Khao Yai National Park.
Overnight: Royal River Hotel (3 star hotel)
Meals included: Breakfast & Lunch

DAY 11
Today we enter Khao Yai National Park, an asean national heritage area rich in wildlife and hiking trails. Bird watching all day
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Overnight: Juldis Resort & Spa, ( 3 star) Superior room

DAY 12
Khao Yai. Bird watching all day
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Overnight: Juldis Resort & Spa, ( 3 star) Superior room

DAY 13
Early morning birdwatching until the afternoon where we return to Bangkok.
