Summary
Khao Yai National Park, some 2 hours northeast of Bangkok consists of moist evergreen forest, mixed deciduous forest, and dry evergreen forest. With some 2,000-2,500 plant species, over 350 bird species, and large mammals including elephants, white handed gibbon, gaur, Asiatic black bear and wild dog, Khao Yai is a natural choice for a Wild Watch adventure.

This day trip in Khao Yai national park takes you on a number of nature hikes with your naturalist leader through some of the parks best wildlife habitat. Possible wildlife sightings include gibbons, stump-tailed macaque, sambar deer, barking deer, great hornbills, elephants, wild dog and more.


Depart your Bangkok hotel at 0600 for the 2-hour transfer to Khao Yai. Meet your naturalist guide head into the national park on a nature walk for the rest of the day through the lush evergreen forest that dominates the central regions of Khao Yai national park.

Porters are on-hand to carry food and other essentials, and a cook prepares a traditional Thai lunch for you in the forest. Having freshened up after your walk, you will visit mineral licks which is often visited by large mammals. Go on the crocodile trail for a short trek. Drive to Khao Kheaw view point to watch some bird species.Exit the forest around 1700pm and transfer back to your Bangkok hotel
